"...The delight of my weekend had only just begun. Deacon John and his Orchestra had it going on Thursday, then on Saturday night, entertainers came in from all over the country, mostly native New Orleanians who kept the flavor of our down home party rocking the house style. There was Jazz, R&B, Blues and our own Mardi Gras Mombo. Larry McKinley and Norman Robertson were MC’s at the main stage.
