Poet-Sunni Patterson, Speaks At Town Hall Meeting

As I prepare to present awards to the many poets that inspired us and gave sanity for survival throughout the whole Katrina experience, I could not get pass so many great names that made significant contributions to so many lives through poetry. However, I want to begin with Sunni Patterson.

There is so many good things to say about Sunni Patterson, one of New Orleans greatest poet, that even other poets, are in awe of finding words to truly describe her beauty, grace, poise, her intellect and elegance in speech and poetry.

She delivered a piece of poetry at a town hall meeting, that just electrified the audience. She deserves to be nominated for the best of so much thats good about New Orleans. She speaks a breath of fresh air to the issues that challenges the ills of the past generations, yet keeping stride with the truth we face now. A reality check on today's conscience.

I could only thank the heavens above for sharing her with us. She's truly an angel armored with the sword of speech, dancing on wings of love, casting her warmest spirit of true love to you. No doubt, Sunni, We Thank You
