
Parish President, Sheriff, Chief of Police, Tax Assessor, City Councilman and a host of other leaders stood united behind Byron Lee for congress.
Byron Lee's ability to attract support crossing party lines is evident of the kind of endorsements he has recieved. Officials all agree that they are more concerned about putting the right person in office to represent the good of the district, than pushing any candidate of a specific political party.
Throughout the entire conference, officials spoke about major issues that affect this region, and the need to have someone who understands, coastal erosion, health issues, crime, and education. More importantly, someone that will go to Wasington and fight for funding and the kind of legislations needed in the best interest of the region.
Each endorsements came with official speaking of their personal and working relationship with Byron, and how he has brought a unified cohesive effort to rebuilding this region.
Byron put it simply... " I will to Wasington and bring home the bacon"
Others endorsing Lee, who is the only Jefferson Parish candidate in the race for the Second Congressional District, include Jefferson Council Members John Young, Tommy Capella, Chris Roberts, Elton Lagasse and Louis Congemi. In addition to Sheriff Normand, other members of the law enforcement community endorsing Lee include Gretna Police Chief Arthur Lawson, Westwego Police Chief Pancho Munch and Kenner Police Chief Steve Caraway. Also on hand will be Jefferson legislators, School Board members and Kenner city council members.
