Judge Darryl Derbigny is a great New Orleans story. He's a great Criminal District Court Judge. Help him continue the fight to make our streets safer.
Judge Darryl Derbigny was born and raised in the Seventh Ward. His father was a railroad porter. His mother ran Connie's Grill. They were hard-working, decent people who, despite limited means, sent all of their nine children to quality schools. Darryl attended Corpus Christi Grammar School and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1969.
His college studies took him to New York City and Europe, but he longed for his hometown and the opportunity to contribute to New Orleans. His commitment to public service led him to be a teacher, then an attorney. Ultimately the citizens of New Orleans honored Darryl by electing him Judge of Criminal District Court Section J in 2003.
