With standing room only, this diversed group of citizens signed onto Cannizzaro's platform to "Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe, and Removing Violent Criminals in a Swift and Decisive Manner"

This is important to the city, and region, where crime has no bounderies, especially in the African American community, where rape and murder crimes are often perpetrated against citizens in poorer neighborhoods, and criminals remain at large. Cannizzaro's willingness to work closely with multi-parish law enforcement agencies is critical to maintaining law and order. Cannizzaro will fight for a witness protection program that is adequately funded. He is committed to working with state, local and federal agencies to ensure that crimes are reduced across the board.
Most importantly, he has the respect of judges throughout the crimminal courts. He understands the importance of the relationship with the police department and their willingness to be extremly cooperative as evidence at crime scenes are properly documented by officers and expeditiously procesed to bring about convictions. He understands the importance of the clerk of criminal court, and how important records and evidence are'nt comprimised. Simply put "He clearly understands the Job of Orleans Parish District Attorney"

He supports crime prevention efforts and alternative solutions to non-aggressive crimes. But make no mistake, he takes all crimes seriously, and intend to carry out justice effectively.
Cannizzaro campaign continue to receive major endorsements, including the Louisiana Weekly and the New Orleans Tribune. NOLA.Tv has also joined efforts to see Judge Cannizzaro win. He is intelligent, fair, calm and decisive in his rulings.

The Louisiana Weekly had the following to say about Judge Cannizzaro:
“Only one DA candidate is capable of inspiring enough confidence across racial, political lines and judicial lines to restore some semblance of sanity to the District Attorney's office. Only one contender possesses the administrative, prosecutorial, and judicial experience to bring real reform in the local criminal justice arena---retired Appellate Judge Leon Cannizzaro.”
