To All,

As we engage ourselves for the 2nd Annual ASANTE (Thank You ) Awards and Festival…
Our arms are indeed extended to make you apart of this great celebration of a 'Thank You Salute' to individuals in the New Orleans community who have steadfastly enriched and promoted the culture of New Orleans with little or no recognition. These unsung heroes are our 'Culture Ambassadors' to the world with their rich flavor of Jazz/ Art/Poetry and Movies.

We have been privileged to have so much to be thankful for in the spirit of rebuilding our families, our communities and businesses.
Additionally, we say ASANTE to the many outside communities who have embraced and assisted in rebuilding and preserving the rich culture of New Orleans.

We thank you and your organization for continuing to exist as a part of New Orleans. I'm sure you have faced many trails. However, together we have a great opportunity to bring a rejuvenated spirit of pride and confidence as the citizens and businesses join fronts to showcase the great 'Culture and People of New Orleans".

In re-uniting as a city, New Orleans unique neighborhoods echo relics and rhythms of those who lived and worked here. It's vital to regenerate the souls of the residences who embody the very culture of who we are as a city.

The Asante Awards and Festival is a family day, bringing together neighboring artists that paint their inner-visions, while musician toot out lyrical phrases, and the beat of the drums sings it own messages or perhaps the fine art and sculptures designs of an artisan display a symbol, and the melodic phrases of a poet, who tells a story is what we celebrate. Whichever it may be, we have many reasons to appreciate, salute, and give thanks. This is what NOLA.Tv and Asante Awards and Festival is all about. “Asante”

The 2nd Annual Asante Awards and Festival will be held at The Mahalia Jackson Theatre of Performing Arts, the historic grounds of Congo Square and Louis Armstrong Park. It has now been transformed into a building alive with music and theatrical performances telling the history of Louisiana’s rich culture and pride of New Orleans.

This day of Asante (Thanks), is a Salute to the African American Culture and the many UnSung Heroes for their contributions in the arts. “This cause is very much alive”.

This has become one of the most anticipated events to be held in our community, which is long overdue.

The Asante Festival will begin at 10am-2pm. An exclusive Sponsor and Honoree Reception will be held in honor of the award nominees 5pm - 7pm. Be There!!
