New Orleans – Today at the African American Museum, The Black Economic Development Council, The Louisiana Justice Institute, The African American Leadership Project and the NAACP along with other business leaders and civic organizations held a press conference voicing their support of Sanitation Contractors that provide services to the citizens of New Orleans.

“We have found in our research, that the combined cost of sanitation services provided by Metro Disposal and Richards Disposal, as contracted, is 24 million dollars and not 41 million as has been stated in recently disseminated reports,” says the organizations’ leaders.
“The services provided by the sanitation contractors are a direct result of a public bid process let by the City of New Orleans. Metro and Richards Disposal won their respective contracts by meeting all requirements of city and state bid laws, and continue to meet and surpass the terms and requirements of their contracts.”
Each contractor has over 25 years of experience in the industry, in New Orleans, and collectively employs over 250 New Orleans citizens.
