Georges Gets Endorsement From Jefferson Parish Leaders

In most political campaigns, any candidate would lavish in the pool of endorsements from influential leaders, and this election is no exception. Speaking on behalf of the many men and women in Jefferson Parish government, Newell Norman, Jefferson Parish Sheriff, tossed his support behind John Georges for mayor of New Orleans. John's fortune to grasp the support of Jefferson Parish leadership, has certainly earned him the respect of bringing neighboring parishes together in effort to have a more unified region.

Norman says it is critical to the region and maybe the defining moment in modern history, as to whether or not we will succeed at diversifying our economy and begin to move from a fourth tier business economy, down to third and into second tier, so that we can begin to compete throughout the gulf south region. Therefore, by electing John for mayor for New Orleans, he will bring his excitement and business acumen needed for our region to succeed.

John has argued, that businesses don’t stay away or leave New Orleans because of the risk of floods. They leave because of a culture of corruption that makes it difficult or impossible to do business here. They leave because the city doesn’t feel safe for their employees. And they leave because we aren’t doing enough to make the city hospitable to free enterprise.

There is a broad consensus among leaders, that crime is a regional issue, often stifled by political turf wars between parishes, often resulting in escalated crimes, and without the support and cooperation of our neighbors, we will not be able to enforce stiff penalties on those committing crimes.

Norman continues push the idea that it is going to take someone with the courage to break down the political barriers that have strangled our region, further encouraging everyone to vote John George for Mayor of New Orleans.

In addition to John's successful business world, he has culled broad support for his mayoral run with the endorsement of leaders, such as Leon Cannizzaro, Orleans Parish District Attorney, the Forum for Equality, New Orleans Tribune, State Rep. Neil Abramson, Regular Democratic Organization, Coalition for Better Government, The Data Weekly, and a host of other ministers and business leaders.
