NFL News: The League has extended Television deals with the Fox and CBS Networks for six more seasons, a move that allows them to show better games late into the season on prime time television. The deals gives the NFL the option of moving up to seven late-season games from Sunday to Monday night featuring more attractive lineups.

NFL Notes: Miami Dolphins head coach Dave Wannstedt stepped down after a dismal 1-8 season. His defensive coordinator Jim Bates will finish out the remainder of the season.

Majors: Roger Clemens won the Cy Young award, his first in the American League. Meanwhile, Willie Randolph became the fourth African American manager after the New York Mets selected the 50-year old to run the ship.
